Why Sunflower
The sunflower opens and captures the sun's rays to grow stronger.
It is found in vast fields of its fellows and against adversity it turns into seed / fruit and then reborn again, taking all the time it needs.
The sunflowers are similar to each others but always unique.
Sunflower respects the space of the others and opens itself to share its energy.
It's tenacious, social, self-preservative and restorative.
The central part of the sunflower, its 'heart', is structured in a perfectly articulated series of spirals. These follow the golden sequence and protect the internal seeds. Metaphorically each individual sunflower contains its essence which pushes it to self-preserve but also to 'bloom' to the best of its ability.
